Science Reporter, The Washington Post
Carolyn Johnson is a science reporter at the Washington Post with a focus on biology, neuroscience, and stories at the intersection of science and health. She has also reported extensively about drug prices, the business of health care, and health policy. Before joining the Post, she spent more than 10 years at the Boston Globe, where she covered science and technology.
She majored in English and physics at Amherst College and earned a master’s in science writing from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2013, she was part of a team of four reporters that was a Pulitzer finalist for covering a deadly fungal meningitis outbreak tied to a compounding pharmacy in the Boston area.
