Clifford V. Johnson, a professor of physics at the University of Southern California, gives many public lectures about his research and appears often in TV documentaries as an expert. He wrote and illustrated the non-fiction graphic book “The Dialogues: Conversations about the nature of the universe” showing new ways of engaging readers with scientific ideas. He helps artists, writers, and filmmakers incorporate science into their work, and has been science advisor for several movies and TV shows such as Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and the National Geographic Channel’s Genius, about Albert Einstein. He received the 2018 Klopsteg Memorial Award from the American Association of Physics Teachers for outstanding communication of the excitement of contemporary physics to the general public. In 2016 he received a Simons Fellowship recognizing his work in Theoretical Physics.
